The Eyes & Ears Project™ is a nationwide initiative by AmberAlert.com to increase the Alerting Network — the network of individuals and companies receiving AMBER™ Alerts directly via mobile phones, hand-held devices and online.
The Eyes & Ears Project™ is a proactive approach to ensuring the largest audience possible is alerted and acting as the eyes and ears of law enforcement during an AMBER™ Alert.
Through The Eyes & Ears Project™, AmberAlert.com is helping raise awareness of the importance of being alert and encouraging individuals to:

- Download the AmberAlert.com widget to receive AMBER™ Alerts live online.
- Help raise awareness of the importance of registering to receive AMBER™ Alerts by displaying the Be ALERT! symbol.

The Eyes and Ears Project™ is also helping educate parents and guardians on the importance of having updated child identification information. According to the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ), when a child goes missing, it can take law enforcement up to two hours to get the information they need to begin a search, or required by the DoJ to issue an AMBER™ Alert. Having current photos and the necessary descriptive information readily available and easily accessible, is critical.
At AmberAlert.com, we envision a future where the moment an AMBER™ Alert is issued, every mobile phone, hand-held device and web site in the area receives the Alert instantly, creating a community-wide network of eyes and ears on the lookout and ready to help law enforcement in their search.
