Alerting Partner FAQs

What is The Eyes & Ears Project™?

The Eyes & Ears Project™ is a national initiative conceived by The AmberAlert.com Team to raise awareness of the importance for individuals to register to receive AMBER™ Alerts in their area, directly on mobile phones and other handheld devices and drive registrations to increase the AMBER™ Alerting network.

Why “eyes and ears”?

The U.S. Department of Justice describes the AMBER™ Alert Program as follows:
”The AMBER™ Alert Program is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement agencies, broadcasters, transportation agencies, and the wireless industry, to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases. The goal of an AMBER™ Alert is to instantly galvanize the entire community to assist in the search for and the safe recovery of the child.”
At AmberAlert.com we see this as increasing the eyes and ears of law enforcement when an AMBER™ Alert is issued. We are working towards the day that when an AMBER™ Alert is issued every mobile phone, Blackberry, iPhone and PDA in the area goes off; not only alerting the entire community to help law enforcement, but to let everyone know – there are eyes and ears everywhere, looking out for the safety and security of children and families.

How does AmberAlert.com raise awareness of The Eyes & Ears Project™?

To kick off this grass roots initiative, AmberAlert.com has been reaching out to companies and organizations with a large employee, customer and/or membership base. Our Alerting Partners then recruit their employees, customers, supply partners, friends and families to register to receive AMBER™ Alerts on their mobile phones and other hand-held devices.

Do Alerting Partners pay for participation?

No. Participation costs nothing. In fact, AmberAlert.com even provides support materials for internal campaigns to raise awareness of the AMBER™ Program and the importance of registering to receive AMBER™ Alerts.

What if participants are registering in a state where AmberAlert.com is not the primary alerting partner?

AmberAlert.com is a secondary alerting system across the country. When we receive AMBER™ Alerts, we immediately redistribute them to our alerting net work for the areas they have requested to receive alerts in.

Does AmberAlert.com provide registrant information to Alerting Partners or Corporate Partners?

Never. Information obtained from registrants through AmberAlert.com is used solely for the purpose of issuing AMBER™ Alerts. However, our Alerting Partner sand Corporate Sponsors are welcome to make offers and provide information via the Partners page when they customers register their device at www.AmberAlert.com.
